The Venetian businessman Antonio, to help his friend Bassanio to marry Portia, borrowed money from Shylock, a loan shark Jew who was an enemy. Promised that if he could not repay the money, he cut off his pound of meat to meet the debt. Unexpectedly, his merchant ship was in distress at sea and was unable to repay the loan as scheduled. Sherlock was brought to court.

Being repeatedly insulted and discriminated by the other party, Shylock's daughter, Jessica eloped with Lorenzo, so Sherlock came to the Venice court with deep hatred. He categorically refused to reconcile, and resolutely cut off a pound of meat from Antonio according to the terms of the loan. At this time, the plot reached an exciting climax.

On the other hand, at the elegant Belmont manor, the beautiful and wealthy girl Portia sighed: her lifelong event must depend on the gold, silver and lead color boxes set by her father during her lifetime. The suitor is her husband. Portia was distressed by her father's deprivation of autonomy in marriage. Fortunately, Bassanio, who loved her, chose the lead box, and the lover eventually became a dependent.

The above two plot lines merged together in the scene of "Court Litigation", and Portia, who pretended to be a doctor of law, yelled, "Wait! And pointed out to Sherlock that it was only stated that he could take a pound of meat from Antonio, but he did not say that he could take a drop of blood from Antonio. Sherlock couldn't cut Antonio's flesh without bleeding, and smart Portia saved her husband's friend's life with his wit. After winning the lawsuit, Portia mischievously recognized her husband, begging for a wedding ring as a reward, and returned home to falsely blame him, causing a comical bickering. Finally, in the sudden realization of Bassanio, the play ended successfully.
